My Homemade Slide

Recently I discovered something new - guess what I'm trying to do?
Yes, you're right! I would turn around my chair and convert that into a slide. It's very simple, let me show you...

I could even do it with a balloon in my hand! Wanna try? :) Hehe, one more worry for Mommy.

Goodbye Singapore!

16 Oct, Singapore - Finally it's time to say goodbye. We had our breakfast, packed and checked out. We took a cab directly to the airport. Mommy and Daddy were quite worried if I'd behave well this time. Since I haven't had my nap, it's a bit risky. After we checked in our luggage, we went to have lunch at one of the Indonesian Restaurant. We didn't went in to the duty free area yet because Daddy thought we were not allowed to bring the water in. They wanted to have the milk ready this time (we're allowed to bring in milk in liquid form, but not water) - lesson learnt from the first time when trying to make the milk in the plane itself (no cold water - so my milk would be boiling hot).

In the restaurant, again I threw a tantrum. I wanted Mommy to carry me. Then I wanted her to push me in my stroller until I slept. Halfway thru, I wanted Daddy instead. And then back to Mommy. So they took turns to have lunch in between. After lunch, they prepared my milk and threw away all the water in the bottles and flask. We then went into the departure hall. Surprisingly, there's no one to check if we're carrying any liquid, etc. So, it looked like we could bring our water in? Anway, we went to get some tax refund for the stuffs that we bought, before heading to the boarding area. Mommy stopped by a toy shop to get me something - I chose it myself. A Thomas and Friend toy, in which I could spin the numbers around. When I saw a certain character appeared, I got amused and laughed aloud. That got me entertained for quite some time. Luckily I didn't know those sweets could be eaten, because Mommy didn't plan to let me have them. Time to board the plane, and I was still engrossed with my new toy. Daddy and Mommy were hoping that it would last at least until our plane took off...

And we're finally in the plane. This time, they let me sit near the window seat so that I won't be distracted by the air stewardess walking in and out of their cabin. I wouldn't see so much of that from there. The first thing that Mommy did was to let me play with the crayons immediately instead of keeping that. I had played with the crayons back at the hotel, and I really enjoyed it. I even ate one out of curiosity! Luckily Mommy caught me and managed to dig that out from my mouth. Well, so this time, I had some fun scribbling away while the rest prepared to take off.
I heard one of the Jie Jies commented how cute I was, and she even told her colleagues loudly that she wanted to have 2 children later - 1 boy and 1 girl :) She offerred to take a shot for all of us, and so here you go...

Daddy and Mommy were anxiously observing me very closely, everything was ready to keep me occupied. They brought some raisins with them, and when I felt bored with playing, I ate those raisins. They had my nen nen, boh boh and chut chut ready as well. Soon, it's time to take off, and I hardly noticed it at all. Daddy was busily attracting my attention by playing the new toy with me. And when the Jie Jie serve food to us, I saw how grand my food was. I tasted a little, the green-like jelly, a few bites of the sandwiches and some custard like cake. Mommy tried to give me some of the fresh milk, but I had had enough and wanted to sleep. So Daddy fed me nen nen. After finishing that, I tried to sleep, but was having difficulty. In the end, I wanted to have my pants off! You see, I had this habit of sleeping with my pants off because I didn't like the warm feeling of pampers wrapping around me. They took off my diapers and tried to make me wear my pants. But I wouldn't want to. I started to cry, and to prevent me from starting another tantrum, they finally let me have my way. They covered me with a cloth and not too long later, I dozed off. Phew! I nearly could hear them sighed in relief. Daddy took a nap as well, and Mommy tried to savour my leftovers. Not too nice, the sandwiches were rather hard, though. Both Daddy and Mommy opted for not having their adult meal because Daddy wanted to have a nap, and Mommy couldn't finish so much food.

And finally, we landed. So we've made it this time.... me not crying at all! Both Daddy and Mommy kept on praising me. Amah was sitting at a different row because there's no more place nearby. The baby sitting next to her had been crying and pooed so she told us what a bad experience the mother had. She was travelling alone with the baby, so Amah tried to help her.

Well, all for a flying experience...

Singapore Day 3

15th Oct, Singapore - I woke up at the right time today so I got to go down for breakfast with Mommy and Daddy. Amah chose to stay back this time and didn't want to come down for breakfast. On our way there, we stopped for awhile at the swimming pool to enjoy the view.

After that, we went in to the Rajah Mas Cafe for our breakfast. Halfway thru, I saw the chef looking at me, so I didn't feel comfortable and wanted Mommy to take me out. In the end, Daddy carried me back to our room to stay there with Amah. Not long later, Mommy came back to fetch me, hoping that I would eat something. I managed to have a bite here and there, and then when we were all done, we went back up to our room.
After that, we got ready for our outings. Today, we're planning to go to Sentosa Island. So we headed to Vivo City again. Since Chiu Chiu was working today, we took the free shuttle to Yishun MRT station, and from there we took the MRT to VivoCity. The whole journey took us about 1 hour, including the wait and all. So when we reached there, it was already 11++am. We decided to have lunch first before going to Sentosa. Mommy missed Sushi Tei, so we had our lunch there. The unagi rice that Mommy ordered was yummy. We were all too hungry and forgot to take pictures of our food!

After lunch, we headed to the MRT station. The journey took longer than expected because I detoured several times. Mommy needed to coax me to hurry up, or we'd miss the train. However, I wouldn't let anyone carry me, nor sit in my stroller. I preferred to walk instead.

When we finally reached the station, I was too tired and dozed off halfway thru the journey. It's a good thing that they let us carry the stroller in, so I got to rest comfortably in the MRT, in my stroller, of course. I woke up just in time when we reached Sentosa. Initially we wanted to take the tram to the Underwater World, but due to the crowd, Amah suggested that we went to the beach first. I had a great time there, especially playing with the sand. This time I was not afraid of the beach nor the water. I was fully engrossed in it until I wouldn't want to budge when Daddy said that it's time to move on.

Finally, they managed to drag me away. We decided to walk to the Underwater World since the trams were all full. On our way, we saw a fountain where water came spurting out at a short interval. I was fascinated and wanted to touch the water as it gushed out. We ended up being wet.

Oh yes, the beach that we went to was called the Siloso Beach.

Hmm... I was quite close to feeling sleepy. Can you tell from the photo above? We continued our journey, and since they put up music thru the loud speaker, the atmosphere was really jovial and lively. I danced along with the music as I walked. We saw a dog on the way, and I nearly chased after it since it walked so fast! When I lost sight of it, I cried so Mommy carried me and tried to walk faster to catch up with the dog. And then it suddenly rained. It rained so heavily that we have to find a shelter at a nearby hotel. We saw the trams came and went, but they were all fully packed with people.

After awhile, the rain started to drizzle and became smaller. Just then, we saw a tram passing, and there were still some empty seats. So we hopped in, and stopped at the Underwater World stop, which is also the last stop. But when we reached there, it began to rain very heavily again. None of us liked the idea of walking there (although we're quite close, we would surely get wet under the heavy rain). So we waited for the next tram to go back. Unfortunately, when the tram came, Mommy and Amah chose to sat at the very first row. There's no more place for Daddy so he went behind - the 3rd row. Smart Daddy - coz we're all wet by the time we reached the MRT station. The rain came down directly on us even though there's a cover in front. Mommy tried to protect me from the horrendous rain by using her body to block the rain, so she's fully drenched by the time we reached our destination. And I was sleeping thru it all!

When we finally reached our destination, Daddy and Mommy quickly changed me into the extra set of clothing. After that, we headed back to VivoCity.

I was back to my cheerful self again, after the short nap. I wanted to hold the rail above me in the MRT, so Daddy let me have a try. We then shopped around at VivoCity, Mommy wanted to get some clothes so that she could change into something dry. We were contemplating whether to go back to the hotel to change, but Daddy felt that it wouldn't be so effective. By the time we reached the hotel and came out again, it would be dinner time already. So Mommy went to buy some clothes. While Mommy's trying that out, I was busy running in and out of Mommy's changing room - they only have a curtain, you see, instead of a door. After we're done, Amah did a little shopping along the way. Actually we hardly managed to buy much because I was running around. They even detoured because I saw the Toy R Us we went to on the first day and insisted wanted to go in. It took them sometime to stop me from my struggle and cries.

We then headed for Orchard Road. Yes, the Jewel Fest was on, so Mommy accompanied Amah in to have a look. I was by then sleeping again, so Daddy stayed outside to keep watch of me (I'm sleeping in my stroller).

Our next destination was The Paragon. There's a level specially dedicated for kids, and Mommy thought I might like the place. Indeed I did!

It had been such a long time since I ever dared sat on a ride. The last time I had one was when I was exactly 1 year old. It looked like this Singapore trip had somehow helped me got over my fear in a way.

Well, Mommy started to feel not well not too long later. So we had a quick dinner at Spageddies - er, not really quick because I started to throw tantrums again and wouldn't want to sit in. While waiting for Chiu Chiu to come and fetch us back to our hotel, Daddy entertained me by letting me played with the stairs and escalators.

Chiu Chiu came later and then we were back to our hotel. I tried the plums that Chiu Chiu bought and I love it. I finished one whole plum all by myself! I played with Chiu Chiu for awhile, and then Daddy helped to bathe me. Mommy gave me my medicine (hopefully the last dose) before we finally called the night off.

Singapore Day 2

14 Oct 2007, Singapore - I didn't get to eat any breakfast today, because I overslept! Well, actually I woke up at ~7 am, when everyone was still sleeping. But after playing awhile, I slept back at around 9am. So Daddy and Amah went down for breakfast while Mommy slept with me. When they returned to the hotel, I was still sleeping. So Daddy went back to sleep. Mommy then got ready for church, since it's a Sunday. Chiu Chiu came and fetch her there. It was already 11am then, but I was still sleeping :) In fact, all of us were, except Mommy of course!

When Mommy & Chiu Chiu came back, it was nearly 1pm. We got ready to go out. Chiu Chiu brought us to Gelang to try the famous turtle soup. This restaurant, as well as the duck rice restaurant that we went to yesterday, have been frequented by famous artists and the food's really good. I have never tasted anything so delicious before and I kept on insisting to have more bowls of soup! Mommy and the rest were enjoying themselves very much too.

A closer look at the herbal turtle soup...

After lunch, we made another attempt to Jurong Bird Park. Luckily the sun was shining on us, so Chiu Chiu dropped us there. We bought our tickets, I got to enter free and Amah got some discounts for senior citizens. Since the weather was great, we decided to walk and didn't opt for the monorail option.

The first bird that I saw was the ugly duckling. Or so according to Mommy, just to associate it with my favourite story. But I don't think it's the same duck as in the ugly duckling story though, you can see for yourself - it's at the background (but rather small).

I've never seen so many birds in my life before. I'm a great fans of the birds, even when I'm in Penang, I would request for Mommy to take me to have a closer look at the birds if I see them on the roadside.

So now, I got so see so many different types of birds up close and personal.

Since it's going to be 4pm soon, we made our way to the Fuji Hawk Walk to catch the last bird show of the day - Birds of Prey Shows. It's very hot that day, and I was sweating profusely. I bet I'm gonna be sun-tanned soon. Amah and Mommy kept making me wear my hat, but I kept throwing it down. So, they took papers to cover my head instead, but I pushed them away because I didn't like those things on my head. Did you see there's a large crowd too waiting for the show?
I love the part where the birds flew from one of the demonstrator to the other, and the route that the bird took was exactly on top of my head! That's because I was sitting quite close to one of the demonstrator. Everytime the bird flew over me (it's really close, and Mommy would shield me when it came near me so that I won't be scared), I'll giggled and see it flew to the other demonstrator.

After the show ended, we toured around the place.

More photos...

And could you believe it that I actually climbed up till here on my own? When Daddy finally catched up with me, I was already up there. He had to carry me to stop me from going further up, despite my struggles.

We saw more birds...

and have a great time swinging away. Actually they use this swing to keep me under control, I have been running around and insisting to walk my own way.

And before Daddy decided to call it the day of birds, we went to see the penguins. You can see that I'm about to sleep - which is another reason why I'm getting out of control.
The last picture showed that I wanted to get out of there... I guess I've had enough. So after that, Mommy called Chiu Chiu to come fetch us. We were waiting at the souvenir shop and I wanted to play with every birds plush toys there. When Mommy and Daddy tried to stop me, I got angry and lied down on the floor. Everybody was looking at me, I guess both Mommy and Daddy were really embarassed. But I just wouldn't want to listen. Well, luckily Chiu Chiu came not too long later.

Chiu Chiu wanted to take us for the Duck Tour, so we rushed to Suntec City to get our tickets.
Unfortunately, by the time we reached there, it's already closed. The last tour was at 6pm. So we then went to have dinner instead. I was already asleep in Chiu Chiu's car, and still sleeping when they came here. Guess where we have our dinner?
And here's what we ordered...The Original Baby Backs and Tony Roma’s Red Hots. They are really delicious, but I only have chips since that's my favourites.

When I woke up, I found myself in this restaurant and was not very familiar with my surroundings. So I asked Mommy to take me out. I prefer to wander around the fish pond in front of the restaurant instead. So Mommy and Daddy had to take turns bringing me out so that they could have their dinner in-betweens. And towards the end, I found something that really attracted me...

I wouldn't want to come down even though they have finished their dinner, and Chiu Chiu even tried to teach me how to play the game. This is my only photos with Chiu Chiu, by the way.

After that, we went outdoor to have a night view
of the place. It's really nice, especially at the fountain there. However, Daddy couldn't get a good shot of that. The only photo that turned out quite well is this...

After that, Chiu Chiu drove us to the Esplanade since Amah's really tired and couldn't walk further. We just sat there enjoying the night view. But I couldn't sit still so Daddy brought me for a stroll around that area.

This photo was taken without me because I was throwing tantrums at that time - and lying on the floor again. So they ignored me this time...

After that, Chiu Chiu sent us back to the hotel. See what mischief I was into again? :)
Well, it's another tiring day for us. Good night :)
