How I nearly gave up my pacifier

One fine Thursday afternoon, I decided to be naughty and started to throw all my toys down the balcony while Amah was drying the clothes. Down went my bo bo (my favourite pillow, which I can't go without), my chut chut (pacifier, which is also a must for me especially if I want to sleep), and then some of my toys (including the blocks that Mommy & Daddy bought for me during their trip to Hawaii). Amah was so angry with me, but she took me down to search for them. We only found my bo bo, and some of the toys. No chut chut. And one of the blocks was also missing.

When Mommy came back from work, Amah related the incident to her. Mommy straightaway told me that since I'm the one who threw my pacifier away, she won't be getting another one for me. Coz Amah was asking her to buy me another one, or else I won't be able to sleep that night.

Well, things were pretty hard for me. When I asked them for chut chut, they will ask me, "Who throw the chut chut away?" I pointed to myself. So they will say that since it's my fault, and Amah couldn't find it, so I have to live without.

Ever since then, I didn't ask for the pacifier anymore. It's been nearly 5 days, and I certainly made Mommy & Amah's life difficult. Why? Coz I started to be very clingy and made unreasonable demands. Even after I slept, I won't let Mommy put me down. Instead, she'll have to craddle me for a long time. I no longer took my afternoon nap, since I have difficulty getting to sleep. And at night, I still slept quite late, despite me not having any nap in the afternoon. So, I guess after sometime, both Amah and Mommy couldn't take it anymore. They decided to get me a pacifier! Hooray! So I won in the end. But it seems like Mommy had her reasons for buying me the pacifier. Read her blog if you want to know more!

My new pacifier... it's from the pigeon series where it's specially designed for babies above 18 months - it will ease them especially during their teething process. It's from the same series as my previous one, except that it was a cat before. Now, I have a lamb with the words "I love Mama". Sometimes if I wore it upside down, Mommy would tell me, "Szeyi, your chut chut is upside down already". Then I'll turn it back to the right orientation :)

Playgroup in Action

We were all very excited today. Well, at least all the mommies were. Today's playgroup was supposed to be very fun. It's going to be a splashing pool party! Or so we thought.... coz Auntie Hooi Ling had suggested to put out her indoor pool with water and let us splashed in it. But then, it started to pour even before we arrived. So, we ended up having a dry party instead.

Anyway, we all had fun. When I arrived, Evan was already there. This was his first time there. He's slightly younger than me, he's about 17 months plus. I played with his new toys for awhile, before the indoor pool attracted my attention again. I straightaway dived into it, and had a great time diving in and out. During that time, the rest of them arrived with their Mommies - Hin Lerk, Ching Ern and Bryan. This was the first time I met Bryan, he was ~1 month older than me.

When everyone had warmed up and started playing, I found my favourite spot - the stairs! And I took Charlotte's little dancing Pooh with me. It's not easy getting this pooh all to myself, as it had attracted a lot of attentions from my other playmates. I had a little tiff with Evan and Ching Ern over it, and sorry to say that I was a little too demanding and insisted to have the Winnie the Pooh first. The other Mommies tried to advise me to share with the rest, but I just wouldn't listen. Now you know how stubborn I was. And unfortunately, both Ching Ern & Evan were younger than me, so it looked like I'm a big bully...

While I was up there playing with my little friend, Mommy tried to talk me into letting Evan had his turn with the Pooh (before that, I grabbed that from him). I listened to her, and then nodded. Then I went down the stairs and headed towards Evan to pass him the Pooh. But during that time, he was occupied with some other things and was not looking at me. So I just throwed the Pooh to him! Mommy was horrified and told me to be more gentle. Anyway, the rest of the Mommies all praised me for wanting to share the toys now. Hopefully this will improve their impression on me a little bit...

Later I found another toy that really intrigued me, but I don't know who it belonged to. Mommy was asking around for me, but the Mommies that she asked didn't know either. Anway, I had a great time playing with it.
Apart of that, I also had fun with the other toys... and not to mention Charlotte's beautiful doggy.

Towards the end of the playgroup, Mommy needed to get her car so that I won't get wet since it was still pouring. She parked quite far from Charlotte's house. So, she asked Auntie Hooi Ling to keep me entertained while she was away. Guess what they use to get my attention? Baby Einstein's World Animals DVD! Mommy brought that to exhange with one of Charlotte's collections so that we could learn to share.

Mommy came back later and managed to get this pictures of ours...

We were all busily watching the DVD... only left Bryan, me and Charlotte.
We certainly had a great time, and ever since then, when Mommy asked me if I wanted to go to the playgroup, I would take my little Learning Toolbench along. And I think I did improved a little over my sharing atttitude too!

Passport to the World!

I've got my passport finally! Today is a replacement holiday for Mommy and Daddy, so they took me to have my passport made. Mommy is still guilty for going off to Hawaii last month without me, so she promised to make me a passport so that next time I'll get to travel with them too, since that was a very last minute trip and they didn't have time to make my passport as well as US VISA. In fact, she has planned to take me for a flight adventure before I reach 2 year old. Let's see if she keep her promise...(chuckled!)

It's not easy getting me to pose for the photo. I was rather grumpy that day, and kept saying "mai, mai" (don't want in Hokkien) when they asked me to pose. In the end, they asked me to sit on Mommy's lap while they took my photo with Daddy busy trying to make me smile. My face was really sour then, but hey, see what they finally got?

The Beach Experience

Mommy had always wanted to take me to the beach. So, we went to the Batu Ferringhi beach yesterday. At first, I was very excited. I could feel the sand! I was running along the beach happily when I saw Amah going near the sea.
So I ran there. And then I heard Mommy and Daddy were calling me not to go there. Just then, the waves came rolling in. I got a shock since then, and wanted Mommy to carry me.

Later, Amah tried to teach me how to make sand castles. I wouldn't want to get down. Instead, I asked Mommy to put back my shoes for me. Amah asked Mommy to wash my feet first, using the sea water. So Mommy went to clean my feet for me, carrying me to the sea again. But when I saw the waves came rolling in, I was hysterical and screamed for Mommy to take me up as soon as possible. She was still carrying me, but I just wouldn't want my feet to touch the sea water. Daddy could see how afraid I was, so he quickly asked Mommy to take me up the shore.

Looks like Amah was having fun building the sand cattles, but I was not interested at all. I just wanted to go home. Well, we didn't stay long after that, since I couldn't enjoy the beach.

Ching Ern's birthday favours

I missed Ching Ern's birthday party because we went home to Ipoh to celebrate Gong Gong's birthday (which was also belated because we have to attend Daddy's relative's wedding). However, I didn't miss all the fun because Ching Ern's mommy gave me this...

I sure have lotsa fun! Thanks Aunty Wooi Sin :)

My first playgroup

Mommy took me to my first playgroup today. It was at Charlotte's house. We are the last to arrive, since I pooped on my way there and Mommy needs to take me back to our house and cleaned me first ;D Don't want to give a first 'smelly' impression in front of my new friends, hehe....

I was very excited when I see all my new friends there with their mothers. The eldest is Hin Lerk (~23 months+), followed by Wei Xuan (~21 months+), Charlotte (~19 months+), me (~18 months+), Ethan (~17 months+) and the youngest of all, Ching Ern (~11 months +). But what excite me the most were the toys. Each of them brought a toy with them. I brought my Learning Toolbench which Mommy bought from Singapore with me. The first thing that attracted my attention was Hin Lerk's farm house, I have a great time with it.

Later, I discovered there's a big indoor pool with lotsa balls in it. So I quickly went into it and enjoyed myself there before the rest noticed it too. Not too long later, Ethan joined me and then came Wei Xuan. I was more of watching them than playing with them.

I love to wander off to where there were less crowd. Mommy thought that I don't like to socialize with the rest, but the actual fact is that I love to explore new things. My favourite spot is no other than the stairs, of course. I love climbing the stairs and counting 1,2,3 (but of course, I can only say 1, and my 2, 3, etc is also 1, hehe). Oh yes, I also discovered that Charlotte has lots of interesting books! I took out the one on Barney, and asked Mommy to read to me, but Mommy kept scolding me for simply taking out the books without asking Charlotte or Aunty Hooi Ling first. Well, didn't she know that I still don't know how to ask yet? She should ask for me!

Later, I found this interesting stuff...and Ching Ern was also interested in it...

Guess what happened next?

Uh huh, looks like I'm the bad girl, bullying the youngest in the playgroup. Mommy asked me to let Ching Ern play with it, but I wouldn't want. I would like to explore this first! Am I selfish? I have my reasons, and I know Ching Ern will understand...but I guess Mommy has already given me a red in my report card when she told Daddy about it.

Anyway, I'm not going to worry about that yet. Something just caught my attention. Look at what Charlotte has got?

A very beautiful doggy! I wish I could play with it whole day. Hin Lerk and Ethan were also fascinated with it. Hin Lerk was so brave, he dared to touch the doggy!

Towards the end of the playgroup, I asked Mommy where's Daddy - I missed him. Why hasn't he come yet? The rest of them has gone home. Luckily Charlotte and her Mommy entertained me until Daddy arrived. I even got myself a slice of apple - thanks Auntie Hooi Ling! This is certainly a great playgroup - although I still need to learn how to share :)
