How would you know if it's August already? To me, it's when I noticed them setting up the fun fair stalls. We've been going there nearly every year since it started like 3 years back. Well, since it coincided with the Chinese Ghost Month this year, I thought we couldn't bring the kids there. So luckily when we passed there on our way home from work/school, the kids didn't really noticed it too as they were just starting to setup. I didn't want to give them any false promises so I didn't point out to them either.
Not until one night when MIL called to ask if the kids were already sleeping. 3rd Chik Chik wanted to bring them there! At that time, we're putting them to bed, so Hubby told MIL they're already sleeping. That incident indirectly told us that MIL didn't really mind if the kids went there during the Ghost Month. And as more stalls were up, it's difficult to hide from them over time too, so when we passed that way again everyday after school, the kids kept on requesting.
And one fine day, we finally went. I was astonished to see that SJ could actually take the ride by herself! The first time, I didn't let her go, only SY.
Then after SY's done, SJ asked me to let her go! The 2nd time, SY didn't want to sit on the rides again, so SJ actually went alone! Too bad I didn't bring any camera with me, so I used my h/p instead, but it was blurry.
It started to drizzle not long after, so we left after playing with the duck game, where they just scooped up a duck and see what prize they'll get.
The 2nd time we went, it was with MIL. She enjoyed the games a lot too, especially those where she threw a ball or ring to win a certain toy. As for the kids, apart from those games, they still enjoyed the rides the most. This time, they chose the Aladdin spaceship :)
Then, they went for the helicopter rides...
And finally this car ride on High Way 3000 :)
You can see both of them smilling. That's the beginning. After a few rounds, SJ's head got bumped a few times to the pole behind her head due to the bumpiness, she got scared and her expression changed to this...
When they finished the ride, Jie Jie wanted a 2nd round with a different car, while SJ said it's enough for her
Our 3rd time there, I remembered to bring my camera along :) So the photos were not so blurry.
SJ didn't want to go after the previous experience so SY went alone |
It took awhile before SJ warmed up again as she chose to skip the next ride as well
So we stood there while waiting for Jie Jie to finish her rounds
And then SJ's ready! Jie Jie's so nice to accompany her again for the next ride even though it's the same one.
Next, they wanted to try the swinging boat (or Mini Viking). Daddy decided to go with them as they're too small for this alone.
As you can see, initially both were very excited. Towards the end, Jie Jie got scared and turned pale. Mei Mei still ok as she was being carried by Daddy |
Mei Mei wanted to join too, but we were rather strict with her, as the dragon were going really fast! However, Jie Jie was rather brave, she was not afraid at all!
The girls still hadn't had enough, so they went for this again...
And finally this before they called it the night...
I thought they'll be closing down by end of the month, but come September, it's still there! So we went for the 4th time again (Daddy was cursing by now) as 3rd Chik Chik wanted to bring them there. I couldn't get a nice shot, but most of the rides they've tried during the previous trips here. This was the best shot that I got (SJ decided to sit on the car ride this time, the one which she rejected the 2nd trip previoulsy)
She said this time her head didn't get knocked :) |
